Meet our Concierge

Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore announces Concierge Jonathan Knox as the recipient of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or presented by Les Clefs d’Or USA, the only international association of professional hotel concierges. Les Clefs d’Or, a French term that means “keys of gold,” recognizes top concierge professionals all around the world as being committed to delivering the highest guest services possible.  Prior to earning the elite crossed gold keys on their lapels, recipients must secure sponsorship from two active members, pass a comprehensive test, demonstrate their years of experience and provide details about why they should be considered to receive the coveted pins.

“What an amazing accomplishment to be considered by your peers as one of the best in your profession around the nation and even the world.  This honor comes after years of amazing service, dedication and commitment to not only guiding our guests each and every day but to also to helping others in need and becoming an ambassador of the city of Baltimore,” said Richard Bryant, Director of Sales and Marketing for Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore.  “We are proud of Jonathan and his drive to set new standards for guest service perfection.”

The keys on a Clefs d’Or concierge’s uniform are designed and manufactured by Bucherer Jewelers in Switzerland and are internationally trademarked although many countries then add an individualized component such as a flag or other symbol.  Members of Les Clefs d’Or USA represent over 300,000 hotel rooms nightly at more than 300 primarily four and five star properties.  The USA section, compromising almost twenty percent of the total members worldwide, is part of the larger international association with over 4,000 members in 80 countries and 536 locations around the globe.

With roots dating back to 1929, Les Clefs d’Or was officially founded in France in 1952, as a not-for-profit organization based on two pillars: Service and Friendship.

Jonathan Knox was born in Providence, Rhode Island, attended Howard University in Washington, DC and moved to Baltimore because of his love of the city. He has been Concierge at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court since August 2012.
