Our Courtyard is home to the busiest employees at The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore. As part of our Land, Air, and Sea environmental sustainability initiatives, our hotel became a steward of 30,000 honeybees in 2011. Currently, the Honeybees are supplied by BeeFriendlyApaiary.com whose mission is to offer a variety of ways to help educate our community about the importance of pollinators. 

Although Honeybees can travel up to five miles daily, we have attempted to save them all that flight time with the placement of our 7th-floor rooftop herb garden. Watching our Honeybees at work is best done early in the morning. They need approximately 50 quarts of honey to survive through the long and cold winter months. Any extra honey they produce is harvested and used in the creative recipes of our talented chef.

Visit our rotating Art Gallery located on the second floor, curated by local artist Crystal Moll. Her inspiration comes from urban landscapes and is influenced by the street scenes of Baltimore and the farms of Maryland's Eastern Shore. 

Aiming to foster an atmosphere of originality, the Sonesta Art Collection consists of more than 7,000 contemporary paintings, sculptures, original prints, and tapestries by both established and emerging artists such as Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Sol Lewitt, Jan Dibbets, Malcolm Morley, and Carl Palazzolo. 

The works reflect the artists’ vision while illuminating some of the most significant movements in contemporary art, including Conceptual, Minimal, and Pop Art. The works of art are placed in public spaces at The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore, and in most guest rooms as well. Each work of art is carefully considered to create an aesthetically pleasing and meaningful statement.   

Sonesta's Art Collection is recognized as one of the first corporate hotel programs dedicated to original art by nationally and internationally known artists. The collection was initiated in the early 1960s and overseen by Sonesta's former Executive Chairman, Roger P. Sonnabend, and his wife, Joan, an art collector and owner of Obelisk Gallery in Boston. The unique atmosphere that has become a Sonesta trademark is the result of close cooperation between architects, designers, Sonesta's executives and employees, and Joan Sonnabend's vision.

Barrel-Aged Cocktail Program 

Explore our latest creations of in-house aged cocktails. Our talented bartenders offer mouthwatering cocktails that have been aged for several weeks. These cocktails will be presented after the barrels soften harsh edges, enhance depth and richness, and add new layers of flavor for your enjoyment! The whimsical Explorers features safari-inspired décor abounding with animal murals, faux leopard-skin chairs, exceptional antiques, dark wood and leather furniture, and other quality embellishments and conversation pieces.
