COVID-19 Update: The Health & Safety of Our Guests

We believe it is important to directly update you on how our hotels are responding to the global COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation.

Sonesta places the utmost importance on the health and safety of our guests and employees. In-line with this core value, we have paid special attention to the recent global and national news regarding COVID-19, as well as guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and state and local health officials. As a result, we have proactively augmented our high standards for cleanliness and sanitation by adopting a host of precautionary measures across all our brands, including the following:

  • Placing hand sanitizer stations at multiple locations throughout each hotel, for easy use by our guests and employees.
  • Reviewing and increasing the frequency and rigor of existing cleaning and sanitizing procedures, such as laundry cleaning protocols for linen and towels.
  • Increasing the frequency of disinfectant protocols for common surfaces at the hotels (elevators, front desks, public restrooms, entrance doors, etc.).

In addition, we continue to reinforce and train our employees regarding appropriate actions for disease prevention, such as: 

  • Frequent, vigorous hand washing and other good hygiene practices.
  • Minimizing unnecessary physical contact and close proximity with others in our delivery of hotel services.
  • Adopting and adhering to new cleanliness standards and protocols.

Sonesta is also pleased to offer increased flexibility for hotel bookings made directly on Sonesta.com. Effective immediately, Sonesta has issued a 4PM day of arrival cancellation policy for individual reservations through June 30, 2020 at all of its U.S. hotels. We plan to regularly review, expand, and evolve these and other preventative measures as we learn more from the WHO, CDC, and other health experts about how best to combat the spread of this illness.
