David Kohlasch

General Manager

David Kohlasch

David began his hospitality career in Las Vegas, NV, where he worked at the front desk of the Holiday Casino Hotel. Realizing his potential in the hospitality industry, he put himself through the hospitality program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas while working 40 to 50 hours of overnight shifts a week.

As the general manager of Sonesta Gwinnett Place, David starts every day by visiting each department to greet the team. His responsibility as GM is to deliver the Sonesta experience of superior customer service to all guests.

David was awarded the Friends of Tourism award from Explore Gwinnett and is on the Explore Gwinnett/Infinite Energy Center Board of Directors.

David is an avid sports lover and supports local sports teams and competitions.

We are focused on providing our undivided attention to every person in the hotel and ensuring that we are exceeding expectations. We also focus on people resolution to ensure we take care of an issue if there is an error."

Mike Boyer

Director of Sales & Marketing

Mike Boyer

Mike has over 36 years of marketing and sales experience in the hospitality industry. Originally from Pennsylvania, Mike graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA with a triple major in Psychology, Sociology and English. He also played soccer for the varsity team.

Mike has been with Sonesta Gwinnett Place since October 2015. He brings over three decades of varied experience at 3, 4 and 5-star properties. He has shown himself to be a strong leader with the ability to drive increased revenue and market share.

When Mike isn't hard at work, the avid western horseman enjoys riding and sports, having coached football and soccer at the high school level.


Rocco Pisera

Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef

Rocco Pisera

Rocco has over 37 years of food and beverage experience. He has been with Sonesta Gwinnett Place since 2014 and oversees all food and beverage for the hotel. Rocco is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and has worked in many restaurants in areas such as Baltimore, New York City, Florida and Hilton Head Island. He has worked at the oldest luxury hotel through the Belvedere Group in Baltimore.

Rocco wears two hats at Sonesta. As director of food and beverage, Rocco oversees the creative process and overall development of the department. As the executive chef, he handles all food and menu options as well as the financial elements.

Sonesta's Art Bar is open for dinner and cocktails. Grapevine is open for breakfast and lunch. Guests can enjoy any menu item through the hotel's full-service dining and room service option. The restaurants feature local ingredients and local brews and spirits.
