Brett Deloach

General Manager

Brett is no stranger to the hotel industry and brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Sonesta Gwinnett Place. His management career started at Embassy Suites Hotel in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was the assistant manager and responsible for improving quality assurance, increasing loss prevention and overseeing operations for 277 suites. From there, DeLoach became the general manager for Hotel Indigo in Jacksonville and then moved to Atlanta, Ga. to become the general manager for DoubleTree by Hilton. There, his role focused on providing day-to-day leadership and operational management and spearheading the hiring and supervising of his executive team.

 

 

 

Lisa Leong

Director of Sales & Marketing

Lisa started her off her career in Four Seasons Tokyo in the Banquet and Catering Department where she fell in love with the Hospitality Industry. Through years of travel and staying in various hotels she was determined to become a part of a team who created memorable and lasting experiences for the guests who she interacted with.

Since then, Lisa as moved overseas to the United States to developed her understanding in American Hospitality where she spent 15 years working in various Operational Departments, and now moved into the Director of Sales and Marketing role of Sonesta’s first dual branded hotel. Her true passion is to add value to the lives of others which aligns with the Sonesta core values which is one of the main reasons why she joined the company in 2012.

While not at work, Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the abundance of nature and parks that Georgia and the neighboring states have to offer.

 

 

Rene Zurek

Director of Food & Beverage

Rene has worked at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta for 18 years and under the Sonesta brand for the last 5 years. Over the course of Rene's time with Sonesta he has been promoted twice from Restaurant Supervisor to Restaurant Manager and most recently to Food & Beverage Manager. Rene finished number one in customer satisfaction for Food and Beverage within the company in 2017. Rene has successfully controlled cost while continuing to increase revenues year over year. Rene won Manager of the Year in 2014 and Manager of the Quarter in 2016. Rene also demonstrated his commitment to excellence during the Leadership Conference and to Sonesta by serving as Task Force on 3 conversions; Sonesta Bee Cave, Sonesta Silicon Valley, and Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza. 

 

Chef Don Cherry

Executive Chef 

Chef Don brings several years of executive culinary experience over a multitude of diverse industries. Chef Don’s culinary background also includes; Cuts Steak House, the Buckhead Club, Southern Art, and Cherokee Town Country Club. Chef Don has also been featured in local magazines such as Creative Loafing, Eater Atlanta and CNN Online.  Chef Don was also instrumental in the successful execution of partnering with our culinary team during the 2018 Sonesta Leadership Conference. In addition, Chef Don also served as Task Force in Silicon Valley for several months, opening a new kitchen and preparing the staff to execute a well-received grand opening.
