To ensure at all times that all guest needs and requirements are met and to demonstrate a high and consistent level of organization and details. Communicate and provide feedback at all times with all the related departments and to be constantly proactive in anticipating guest needs and requirements. Welcoming guests with a warm and friendly manner. Recognizing all repeat and important guests. Establishes and develops personal guest contact, promotes feedback, anticipates and meets guests’ expectations and requests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.

DUTIES

  • Bears a full and comprehensive knowledge of the Hotel, including all departments, services, outlets, amenities and functions.
  • Ensures the guest are familiarised with all the facilities and services within the suite.
  • Is a continual source of help, assistance and information to all guests.
  • Maintains a high level of communication and feedback within the department.
  • Identifies and anticipate guest needs.
  • Is continually proactive within all areas of operation.
  • Reports for duty punctually and in accordance to the issued department duty roster.
  • Adheres to the company's protocols including Grooming & Uniform Standards/ Hotel and Company policies & procedures/ Hotel Health and Safety policies.
  • Is responsible for the cleanliness of the Butler Pantry on allocated floors and ensuring that the Pantry is correctly stocked and maintained according to set standards.
  • Attends daily pre-shift briefings.
  • Co-ordinates and liaises with the Butler team, Butler Management, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping for any guests’ requirements. 
  • Reports and follows up any suite maintenance requirement according to standard procedures.
  • Ensures all hotel equipment is maintained in good condition at all times.
  • Supports and assist Senior Management.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Builds a thorough rapport with all in-house guests and maintains interaction in order to facilitate guest recognition and obtain specific individual needs, likes and dislikes in order to maintain guest history files.  
  • Maintains the privacy and ensures security of in-house guests.
  • Ensures that all procedures & responsibilities relating to the Greeting/Arrival/Departure procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensures all arrival suites are checked and in order with delivered amenities.
  • Responsible for setting up and reserving cabanas, beach chairs, coolers etc as requested by guests.
  • Escorts guests to their reserved dinners on property, seats and settles them before leaving.
  • Does turndown services in suites while guests are out.
  • Coordinates with housekeeping to ensure guests' suites are serviced at a reasonable time while guests are out.
  • Ensures to service the suites every time the guest leaves the suite (including shoes polishing, collecting laundry and replenishing the mini bar)
  • Possess a knowledge and local area information including restaurants, beaches, excursions and places of interest.
  • Offers to unpack guests' luggage upon arrival and repack for departure.
  • Maintains guests' wardrobe in a neat and tidy fashion.
  • Logs and maintains all guests' requirements and pertinent information in the logbook.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of Concierge service.
  • Creates memorable experiences by ensuring our guests enjoy an unfolding series of delightful moments and thoughtful gestures.
  • Bid guests fond farewell.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  High school education preferred.

PREREQUISITES

  • Previous experience in hospitality at a four or five star level would be preferred and a commitment to delivering a high level of customer service. Must speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace and by the guests. Fluency in Spanish, French or Dutch is an asset. Wine knowledge is also an asset. 
  • Must have work/ resident permit in St Maarten (Dutch) or be USA or Dutch Citizen
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
