Itinerary from the Sacred Valley

If the Sacred Valley is your first visit to the city of Cusco, we recommend the following four days tour:

Day 1 - Tour of the Sacred Valley

From our hotel in Yucay, tour the Sacred Valley preferably on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, take a tour of the colorful artisan market of Pisac, the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, which is one of the most impressive archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire, called “ Fortress ”due to its magnificent walls. and the town of Chinchero. Enjoy the delicious lunch in any of our restaurants in our hotel in Yucay.

Day 2 - Tour of the Sacred Valley (continued)

Enjoy activities such as rafting, horse riding or hiking to the Salineras de Maras, where you can see more than 5,000 salt extraction pools, built in the time of the Incas; and the Archaeological Center of Moray, which is a series of concentric circular platforms in the shape of a bowl, which give the sensation of being an artificial crater and was used as agricultural research centers of the Inca empire.

Day 3 - Machu Pichu

Coordinate with front desk on transport to Ollantaytambo train station (located 15 minutes from the hotel) towards Aguas Calientes.  To buy train tickets visit https://www.perurail.com/ .  Take the train to Machu Picchu. This walk will take you all day and you can enjoy your lunch at the restaurant located at the entrance of the city. For more details of the access to the sacred city click here

Upon returning to the city we suggest you spend the night at our property Sonesta Hotel Cusco located in the same city of Cusco to prepare for Day 4.

Day 4 - The City of Cusco

In the city of Cusco, take a city tour and visit the Koricancha Temple, the Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, Kenko, Puca Pucara and the Tambomachay ruins, as well as the Plaza de Armas and its beautiful Cathedral, all a short distance from our hotel Sonesta Hotel Cusco .
