Situated along world-famous Bourbon Street, Desire Oyster Bar offers diners one of the most authentic dining experiences in New Orleans. An iconic, Broadway style marquis sign lights up the entrance welcoming visitors and locals alike to grab a seat at the bar or a table and enjoy one of the signature delicacies of the Big Easy like never before.
In 2015, Desire's interior design was reimagined to tastefully blend the property’s original, iconic aesthetics with modern design elements inspired by the architectural styles prevalent throughout the Vieux Carre.
Decorative iron grillwork paired with oversized windows and an antique mirror reveal the fully stocked bar and serve as the backdrop for the new Desire bar. Signature features like the tin ceiling and black and white checkered floors give depth to a brand new contemporary bar, highboy tables, and state of the art chargrill station. The color palette and design elements have been carefully curated to complement the existing materials while creating a fresh look for the restaurant.
Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeff Mattia and Chef de Cuisine Corey Jacobs, Desire's menu features:
Fresh Gulf Seafood
Desire’s Shrimp & Grits
Variety of Po’ boys
Oysters: chargrilled, on the half shell, Firecracker Oysters and more
"Creole Trio" - jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo
Fried Green Tomato Benedict with Crawfish Hollandaise
Blackened Catfish Lafitte
Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce
Desire Oyster Bar is the perfect setting to enjoy a great meal in the center of all the action of the French Quarter.
