Skills required: Highly organized and knowledgeable results oriented financial manager with an Accounting degree and prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a hotel setting.
Responsible for constructing and repairing structural woodwork and equipment in the hotel by working from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions. Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework and trim using carpenter’s hand and power tools. Replaces damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and sheet plastic wall covering. Other duties as needed.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of guestrooms. Will follow work orders and keep records of work done in each room. Must have a working knowledge of plumbing, electricity and carpentry. All repairs in a guestroom including the heating and air conditioning units. May be called upon to repair or replace defective electrical switches and fixtures, as well as repairs to plumbing fixtures and A/C equipment. Will respond to guest service calls for rooms maintenance items such as troubleshooting television repairs, replacing light bulbs, etc. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards. Prior luxury hotel experience a plus.
Responsible for making inspections and repairs in hotel guest rooms and public spaces. Keep records of work done. Possesses a working knowledge of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, furniture repairs, painting. Must have a strong knowledge of working with tools. Must be able to perform repairs on heating and air conditioning units. Repair or replace defective electrical switches and fixtures. Repair plumbing fixtures. Adjust and repair televisions. Adjust draperies. Replace light bulbs. Perform shift engineer duties as needed. Responsible for running guest room maintenance calls as required.
We are looking for a responsible individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. A detail oriented person with good mathematical skills computer and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and supervise our Overnight Crew this person must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. This is an overnight position from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Public Area Attendant
Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the lobby, arcade, lower lobby , elevators, rest rooms and the courtyard. This position is required to perform all public area functions and cover for other public area housemen in their absence.
The qualified candidate is required to provide exceptional guest service which is achieved by cleaning and preparing guest rooms for occupancy. This candidate should provide personal service by greeting guests and assisting them as needed. Must demonstrate the housekeeping and Sonesta guest standards. Responsible for properly using the chemicals needed to clean ad prepare guest rooms. Must be knowledgeable of guest rooms and report maintenance problems and concerns immediately. Must be able to clean approximately seventeen rooms within eight hours while meeting the Sonesta standards. Other duties as needed. Housekeeping and hotel experience required. Experience at a comparable hotel is preferred.
Human Resources Director
Provides human resources leadership, strategic support, consultation, coaching, direction and advice to Hotel Executive Committee and all employees on all human resources related topics as well as Sonesta and Hotel culture and values. Works with senior management to develop employment process to support business goals and objectives. Directs, oversees and/or coordinates all human resources activities such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefit, training, and performance management.
Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse
Prompt, efficient, courteous service to our guest in Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse. Proper handling of guest checks according to Royal Sonesta cash handling procedures. Must be friendly and knowledgeable of the beverage menu. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work station. Serve beverage and complimentary snacks, where available, to guests as needed. Leave work area clean at end of shift. Fill out tip report properly for all charge tips. Basic knowledge of mixed drinks, proper method of preparation and service required.
Acts as the groomer of the service team, clearing debris, clutter and dishes as appropriate throughout the meal.
The Captain is the lead of a three-man service team acting as the ambassador of the service team to the table. It is the responsibility of this person to orchestrate the efforts of the Front Server, Back Server, and Runner/Barista to direct the flow of service that we provide to each guest we serve. The Captain is ultimately responsible for all aspects of service and guest satisfaction in his/her station.
The front server acts as the expeditor of service. Required to be fully aware of what is happening at each table at all times through communications with the Captain. The position is the lead on the expedition of all courses. Previous experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred

Pastry cook directly reports to Pastry Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs. Responsible for following all prescribed recipes, using all product & properly setting up station according to guidelines, performing all prep as assigned by Pastry Chef, monitoring food quality, maintaining cooking techniques and presentation standards, etc.
Responsible for maintaining and training of all recipes, standards, and menu items. Assist in areas in need during dinner service. Shift responsibilities: maintaining food quality standards including consistency and presentation, performing all daily walk through inventory to determine daily production and prioritize product utilization, helping assign production duties to all staff, performing all responsibilities of each position in the kitchen, proper use/handling/cleaning/breakdown/maintaining all kitchen equipment, coordinating proper food storage according to standard operating procedure, etc.
Sales & Marketing
Responsible for the day to day administrative support to Group Sales Managers. Will assist with selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and additional services to groups or companies as needed. Must be service oriented, highly organized with the ability to multi-task to meet multiple deadlines. Must also be detail oriented to achieve 100% accuracy of sales contracts. Prior hotel experience in a luxury hotel desired.
Maintain order and security of Hotel property by ensuring great security, close observation and screening of clientele entering the property thus maintaining guest inconveniences to a minimum. Good rapport with local enforcement agencies. Close supervision of all activities in and around the Hotel.
