Restaurant R’evolution & Tin Roof Brewing Company Present a “R’evolutionary” Beer Dinner 1 Night Only – Tuesday 11/12/13

Restaurant R’evolution pays tribute to New Orleans’ rich beer heritage with its first R’evolutionary Beer Dinner on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m.  Award-winning executive chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto create a food and ale paradise for a limited number of guests.

Restaurant R’evolution has partnered with Tin Roof Brewing Co., Baton Rouge’s only micro-brewery, established by owners Charles Caldwell and William McGehee in 2010, to design a dinner menu with each of four courses paired with a different Tin Roof ale.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tin Roof Brewing to the tables of R’evolution,” Chef Folse said.  “Charles and William are doing a phenomenal job.  Not only do they have great, flavorful beers, but they create new beers based on Louisiana’s spicy flavor profiles.  That’s music to a chef’s ears.”
The 1800s were the golden days of beer brewing in New Orleans with legendary names such as JAX, Regal, Dixie and Falstaff.  “Before Prohibition, New Orleans brewed more than 230,000 barrels of beer a year, making it the largest brewer of any city in the South,” Chef Folse said.  With the recent creation of the Louisiana Brewery Trail by Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and the surge of local craft breweries, it seems another golden age of brew is on the horizon.

The R’evolutionary Beer Dinner begins with Smoked Potato Bisque with Black Truffle and Creole Cream Cheese and Tin Roof Voodoo Bengal Pale Ale. This ale complements the soup with notes of honey and caramel flavors. The second course of Chanterelle Spätzle with Foie Gras Brown Butter and Rocket Leaves is accompanied by Tin Roof Blonde Ale. This light-bodied, crisp American Blonde Ale offers a wonderfully refreshing finish that enhances Restaurant R’evolution’s take on traditional German Spätzle.  Game lovers will rejoice in the Spice-cured Venison with Sweet Potato Croquette and Parade Ground Coffee Porter Red Eye Gravy. The flavor profile of this distinct seasonal ale adds hints of toffee and chocolate to R’evolution’s red eye gravy while the Perfect Tin Amber Ale enhances the venison.

Even the dessert, a Satsuma Chocolate Bar with Satsuma Gastrique and Sel Gris, pairs well with Tin Roof’s limited release of Rougarou Imperial Black Ale.  The namesake of this beastly brew derives from the bayou creature of Cajun lore, the Rougarou. The elusive roast undertones and intense aroma of the Rougarou Imperial Black Ale complete a dinner beyond compare.
