Catering Sales Manager
Responsible for soliciting new catering accounts, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed food and beverage revenue goals. Oversee client functions to ensure customer satisfaction. Assist with selling and implementing catering promotions, and maximizing revenue by conducting meetings creating and developing menus for the wedding and corporate markets. Offer personalized solutions for our clients and enhance our reputation and business by working with our Banquet Operations Team to ensure we exceed our clientele’s expectations. High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Two years upscale catering sales experience is ideal, preferably in the local hotel/wedding/corporate catering markets.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of guestrooms. Will follow work orders and keep records of work done in each room. Must have a working knowledge of plumbing, electricity and carpentry. All repairs in a guestroom including the heating and air conditioning units. May be called upon to repair or replace defective electrical switches and fixtures, as well as repairs to plumbing fixtures and A/C equipment. Will respond to guest service calls for rooms maintenance items such as troubleshooting television repairs, replacing light bulbs, etc. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards. Prior luxury hotel experience a plus.
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of the property's cosmetic materials (interior/exterior painting, patching of wood work and furniture refinishing), in accordance with hotel standards. Assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards. Previous experience as a commercial painter required.
Food & Beverage
Follows and maintains standard procedures in preparing the right quality of cold food for the whole hotel. Keep all work areas clean to meet sanitation standards. Must demonstrate the ability to use knives and kitchen equipment as well as the ability to organize and plan the workflow according to business levels. Complete knowledge of work in cold food. Ability to read Banquet Event Orders required. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards.
Prepares and bakes cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, or desserts for the Hotel’s Banquets Events, PJ’s Coffee Café, Desire and Room Service. Previous pastry experience required. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards.
Coordinates activities of stewarding and employees to ensure that the stewarding area and culinary areas are clean and well maintained, creating a work area that is free from safety hazards and compliant with Health & Safety guidelines. Provides support to Banquet Department by pulling equipment in advance according to the BEO. Must have a friendly disposition and willing to follow Sonesta’s GUEST service standards. Prior experience in fine dining or luxury hotel setting a plus.
Guest Service Representative
Responsible for warmly and sincerely receiving, registering, and checking out guests in an efficient and effective manner. Provides general banking services for guests. Maintains and updates registration and key files at all times. Monitors hotel guest parking charges to ensure the collection of revenue. Familiarization with standard and special credit/accounting procedures for guests and groups. Control the issue of room keys according to procedures. Assist in reservations and PBX as needed. One year customer service experience required. Hotel experience preferred. The qualified candidate will possess excellent customer service and problem solving skills. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
The housekeeping supervisor provides the highest level of guest service possible. The position requires the motivation and supervision of a minimum of 6 employees to ensure the Sonesta Room Standards are met for a minimum of 100 rooms. Must establish a comprehensive understanding, practice, and enforce the Sonesta Housekeeping and People standards. Knowledge of the required cleaning chemicals to ensure proper use. Comprehensive knowledge of all items required in guest rooms and their basic function: linens, furniture, carpet, beds, TV, literature, bathroom fixtures, etc. Must report all defects immediately. Inspect and electronically key in all guest rooms in accordance with the Sonesta standards. Provide input for evaluations and assist in motivating employees to improve performance. Other duties as needed. Housekeeping and supervisory experience are required.
The qualified candidate is required to provide exceptional guest service which is achieved by cleaning and preparing guest rooms for occupancy. This candidate should provide personal service by greeting guests and assisting them as needed. Must demonstrate the housekeeping and Sonesta guest standards. Responsible for properly using the chemicals needed to clean ad prepare guest rooms. Must be knowledgeable of guest rooms and report maintenance problems and concerns immediately. Must be able to clean approximately seventeen rooms within eight hours while meeting the Sonesta standards. Other duties as needed. Housekeeping and hotel experience required. Experience at a comparable hotel is preferred.
Fit all new and old employees for uniforms and maintain accurate uniform cards on all employees. Inform linen room manager when supplies or uniforms need to be ordered. Repair guest requests within reason as well as drapes, spreads and other items. Other duties as needed.

Check log book daily to see which rooms need to shampooed. Responsible for shampooing public areas, corridors, and upholstery. The qualified candidate must frequently lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds.
This position is required to provide exceptional guest service, which is done by cleaning and preparing guest rooms for occupancy. The position is also required to provide personal service by greeting guest with enthusiasm and assisting as needed.
Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse
Prompt, efficient, courteous service to our guest in Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse. Proper handling of guest checks according to Royal Sonesta cash handling procedures. Must be friendly and knowledgeable of the beverage menu. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work station. Serve beverage and complimentary snacks, where available, to guests as needed. Leave work area clean at end of shift. Fill out tip report properly for all charge tips. Basic knowledge of mixed drinks, proper method of preparation and service required.
Reports to the General Manager of the restaurant. Will provide support in the day to day activities including overseeing payroll, coding invoices/PO’s, etc. Must ensure accurate menu pricing in micros. Provide leadership to the Front of House team in employee relations, scheduling, discipline, training, etc. Will work closely with the hotel to ensure Sonesta’s standards are followed. Prior management experience in fine dining required, preferably in a Hotel setting.
Acts as the groomer of the service team, clearing debris, clutter and dishes as appropriate throughout the meal.
The Captain is the lead of a three-man service team acting as the ambassador of the service team to the table. It is the responsibility of this person to orchestrate the efforts of the Front Server, Back Server, and Runner/Barista to direct the flow of service that we provide to each guest we serve. The Captain is ultimately responsible for all aspects of service and guest satisfaction in his/her station.
The Food Runner is primarily responsible for the delivery of food from the kitchen.
The front server acts as the expeditor of service. Required to be fully aware of what is happening at each table at all times through communications with the Captain. The position is the lead on the expedition of all courses. Previous experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the leadership, effectiveness and productivity of the Royal Sonesta New Orleans’ sales organization. The role’s primary responsibility is to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximizing the hotel revenues. He/she is also responsible for a maximum of occupancy of conferences and catering in order to optimize general business opportunities. This critical position, on the New Orleans’ Executive Operating Committee, is charged with providing the strategic direction of the local sales and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate has a passion for building sales and catering/convention services teams that are highly successful at driving revenue growth as well as adapting to and execution against new and evolving revenue strategies. Having demonstrated success in delivering results in the luxury hotel market in multiple segments, the ideal candidate should excel at developing high performance sales and catering/convention services professionals through clear communication, motivation, productive coaching and precise accountability. A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency. • BS in Business or related field • 5+ years in a leadership role at a luxury hotel in the area of Sales & Marketing • Track record of delivering exceptional guest and client experience • Demonstrable expertise in analysis and action taking • Excellent oral and written communication • Excellent organization skills • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Delphi experience.
Responsible for the day to day administrative support to Group Sales Managers. Will assist with selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and additional services to groups or companies as needed. Must be service oriented, highly organized with the ability to multi-task to meet multiple deadlines. Must also be detail oriented to achieve 100% accuracy of sales contracts. Prior hotel experience in a luxury hotel desired.
