Director of Engineering
Direct the engineering/maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure the safety and comfort of hotel guests and employees and to ensure compliance with all Brand and federal, state, and/or local regulatory and inspection requirements. May have responsibility for the Loss Prevention function. *This is the top Maintenance/Engineering job in a large full-service, luxury, resort, or major flagship hotel with multiple facilities, a number of major outlets, high volume catering and convention facilities, and a large number of VIP and key guests. Supervises a staff of appr. 10 maintenance/engineering tradespersons with specialized expertise in a field or discipline such a plumbing, carpentry, etc. Oversees subordinate managers and supervisors. Some college of advanced vocational training plus four years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hotel maintenance and supervisory experience preferred. Professional certification and license if required by law.

The candidate will be responsible for prospecting and outside calls to uncover new business opportunities as well as grow our share of current accounts. Must have at least 2 years of experience in travel industry within an upscale/luxury hotel environment and must demonstrate a sound base of current accounts. Travel is required. This position requires excellent business communication and negotiation skills and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be computer literate. This position requires a high level of professionalism, an engaging style, excellent communication skills-verbal and written, organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Experience with Delphi is helpful. College degree or equivalent in experience necessary. This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
Banquet Setup, Banquet Servers, Banquet Captain
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.
Food & Beverage Servers
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.
Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of the property's cosmetic materials (interior/exterior painting, patching of wood work and furniture refinishing), in accordance with hotel standards. Assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned. Ideal candidate should have previous experience as a commercial painter is preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos is required. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Retail Store Attendant
Sell specific lines of merchandise such as apparel, jewelry, snacks, souvenirs, and related lines of merchandise for retail operation. Charge customers via appropriate payment method, including room charges, cash, and credit cards. Ideal candidate will have High School Diploma or equivalent plus one-year experience in a retail or customer service related field. Prior cash handling experience preferred. Basic math skills required. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
