Banquet Sous Chef
Supervise day-to-day activities of the Banquet Sous Chefs and other culinary personnel to achieve compliance in food preparations, presentation and quality for all Banquet Events. Assist with employee training and scheduling. Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures. Supervises culinary employees in a large full-service, luxury, resort hotel and oversees banquet facilities catering to more than 500 people. Maintain approved food costs and labor costs. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience as a sous chef, or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience is required. Degree or certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of multiple full-service food and beverage outlets on a daily basis and coordinating special events. Must be knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations concerning health safety. Ensure that staff members are cross trained in different food and beverage outlets in order to maximize efficiencies at all times and based on business demands. Work closely with Outlet Supervisors in all aspects and plan the progression and development of Supervisors within the department guidelines. At least 1-2 years restaurant management experience in a full service outlet, fine dining restaurant, or similar setting.
Restaurant Sous Chef
We are seeking a Sous Chef to provide culinary, administrative, and leadership assistance to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. The Sous Chef ensures effective, efficient operation for main kitchen and room service. Assist the Executive Chef in the design and implementation of new menus to introduce “new concept” for Gallery Café and room service. Supervise staff to ensure proper handling / storage of all food items is in accordance with hotel standards and sanitation / health regulations. Coordinate the purchase of all food and develop menus. Maintain approved food costs and labor costs. Associate Degree in Culinary Arts preferred. Experience with line cooking required. Experience in overseeing a restaurant preferred. 2 years experience in supervisory role or similar position required. Knowledgeable of hotel operations.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, an engaging style, excellent communication skills-verbal and written, organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Experience with Delphi is helpful. College degree or equivalent in experience necessary. This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
2015 Hospitality Internships
Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island offers a number of work opportunities for students who are enrolled in hospitality, recreation, retail, culinary, and related degree programs. Lead the set-up and break-down and/or service and clean up of banquet functions during assigned shift. Assign work and monitor the performance of scheduled banquet staff. Banquet Setup and Banquet Servers
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.

Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
In-Room Dining Server
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guest rooms and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.
Provide guests with exceptional nail treatments and customer service. Main duties include giving manicures and pedicures, recommending treatments to guests, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Advanced vocational training, plus one-year of experience. Must have and maintain all licensing requirements of the state of South Carolina. Clean and sanitize plateware, silverware, glassware, pots & pans, and utensils. Set up work station, filling dish machine. Rinse/scrape all dishes. Operate machine. Monitor chemicals and water temperature. Sweep and mop floor. May assist with other duties. Carry/lift up to 75 lbs. Standing & moving in kitchen. Bending, stooping, kneeling.
