Christmas Village in Baltimore is a combination of an outdoor and indoor holiday market at West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor. The event is modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany like the famous Christkindl Market in Nuremberg.
From Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve 2021, vendors in wooden booths will sell traditional European food, sweets and drinks. You will also find great shopping opportunities with a large variety of international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry as well as high-quality arts and crafts.
The outdoor area around the Walter Sondheim Fountain and along the Inner Harbor Promenade will bring the original Christmas Village charm with its traditional German style wooden huts to Baltimore. In addition a heated festival tent will create a Christmassy shopping atmosphere with more vendors, a food court and an event space.
The unique atmosphere with thousands of lights, the big Gluhwine Pyramid, the delicious smell of waffles, gingerbread, bratwurst and mulled wine gets you and your family into the perfect Christmas spirit.

50th Annual "Monument Lighting Celebration"
Join us in Mount Vernon Place for an epic 50th Anniversary Monument Lighting, presented by BGE. Food, fireworks, friends— we’re all gathering to celebrate one of Baltimore’s most iconic and exciting evenings. FREE and open to the public. Reservations not required. What started as a quiet gathering of neighbors a half century ago has evolved to become a longstanding Baltimore ritual and the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season. Now in its 50th year, the Annual Monument Lighting invites revelers to properly celebrate the season with food, live performances and a fireworks display. All are invited to bring their friends, neighbors and masks for this time-honored tradition. This event represents a transition with Downtown Partnership producing the Monument Lighting one last time before handing it over to the Mt. Vernon Place Conservancy. The Conservancy, which oversees the monument and the parks that surround it, will assume full responsibility for the event starting in 2022. Learn more here.
