To train and supervise the Butlers according to the company standards of service and style. He/She provides leadership to the butler team and ensures organizational goals and service standards  are met. Ensures service delivery is at all times at an exceptional level. He/She will manage all butler rooms and coach team members to ensure guest satisfaction, brand quality and enhancement and increase in revenue.

DUTIES

  • Ensures that each Butler under his/her supervision reports to their assignment on time and properly groomed and dressed - clean uniform and proper shoes, name tag, and any other uniform-related items.
  • Makes certain that during the check in process all Butlers go to the guest suites assigned to them, introduce themselves and explain the services they will be offering during the guests' stay.
  • Offers to the guests assistance with unpacking of luggage, explains the meal times and locations, shows and explains the use of room features and electronic safes.
  • Monitors Butler team activities so that all suites are prepared before arrival with all the amenities and informational material required, such as hotel directories, popular excursion brochures, fruit plates, flowers, room service menu, wine connoisseur menu.
  • Ensures that all Butlers in his/her team attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
  • Prepares Butler schedule and assigns duties and stations in conjunction with the needs and occupancy of the hotel.
  • Coaches, supervises and evaluates the performance of all Butlers. In addition to supervising and training of the Butlers, he/she will be responsible for working together with his/her team in order to ensure that all personalized services and information are provided to guests.
  • Conducts random checks to ensure that all services requested by guests through their assigned Butlers are followed and scheduled as requested.
  • Ensures butlers abide strictly to the established standard operating procedures.
  • Create opportunities for butlers to up sell wines and additional amenities.
  • Be innovative and creative
  • Effectively multitask and manage under pressure.
  • Conduct training when required and evaluate performance of butlers.
  • Keep informed with new trends in the field of butler services.
  • Monitor Tripadvisor, upcoming reservations and feedback regarding guest satisfaction.
  • Make recommendations regarding staffing, equipment and needs of the department.
  • Meet with Hotel Manager or General manager weekly to make recommendations or resolve challenges.
  • In conjunction with Maintenance and Housekeeping ensure all Butler suites are always in prime condition and ready for guests.
  • Conducts daily briefings to keep team members aware of property happenings, guests' challenges and special requests or needs.
  • Conducts regular departmental meetings to create new ideas for the department.
  • Ensures service delivery is consistent and standards are maintained.
  • Inspect all arrival suites and at least two occupied rooms per butler per day to ensure standards are being maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Hospitality Management is an asset and/or diploma in related field. Strong Computer Knowledge and experience in MS office programs. PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum of 2 years food and beverage or butler service experience in an upscale hotel, resort or cruise ship.
  • Superior customer service, team building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Previous experience in a role of Butler preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Candidates with high school diploma or equivalent level of education are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Ability to speak additional language(s) is a plus
  • Must be certified by a registered Butler training institution.
  • Must possess extensive wine knowledge.
  • Strong management skills and ability to work in multicultural environment.
  • International experience is an asset.
  • Must have work/ resident permit in St Maarten (Dutch) or be USA or Dutch Citizen
