Martin D. Balogh is the Associate Executive Director, Meetings and Travel Group for the American Bar Association.

Martin is responsible for the strategic direction of the Meetings and Travel Group with the mission of creating opportunities to strengthen the membership value of the organization. Martin oversees a staff of 25, which supervises all aspects of the Association’s meetings and travel policies including the Meetings and Travel Department and develops new meetings and travel strategic initiatives. The Association plans about 360 meetings annually including a 4,000-person midyear meeting and an 8,000 person annual meeting. The department is responsible for overseeing the relationship with Orbitz for Business, a transient rate hotel program, and all in-house meetings at both the headquarters in Chicago and the Washington DC office. The newest areas under his responsibility include the schedulers for the Office of the President and a meeting search and contract business unit for law firms and outside legal organizations, ABA Leverage. He has been with the ABA for 34 years and was most recently the Director of Meetings and Travel. Martin’s professional affiliations also include membership in the Professional Convention Management Association, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors.
