First Incentive Travel

Joost de Meyer was born in the Netherlands and following high school he joined the Naval college in Amsterdam. Joost worked with Holland America Line before beginning his career in tourism. During his 25 years of working within the European Travel Trade, Joost worked primarily in management positions for various Dutch and German tour operators.

Moving to Florida in 1997, Joost became a partner in First Incentive Travel and at the beginning of 2000, Joost and his wife Iris became owners of First Incentive Travel. The clients of First Incentive Travel are international corporate groups traveling to the USA. First Incentive Travel has offices in Orlando (HQ), New York, California, Miami and Las Vegas.

In 2009, Joost and Iris added First Incentive Travel International to their portfolio which concentrates on outgoing travel for American corporations who want to hold incentives and meetings outside the USA. Joost traveled to 128 countries during his career and has an extensive international experience.

Joost was named "Member of the Year" at the SITE International Conference 2005 held in Toronto. He is an active participant on the SITE Florida & Caribbean Board and was a member of the International Board of Directors of SITE from January 2007 – December 2010. He was the chair of the host committee for the 2013 SITE Global conference in Orlando. At the IMEX Gala 2015 Joost was rewarded as the SITE Master Motivator 2015.

Joost achieved his CITE (Certified Incentive Travel Executives) Certification in 2007 and his CIS (Certified Incentive Specialist) in 2012. Both certifications are from the association SITE. Additionally Joost is a MPI member and received his CMM (Certified Meeting Manager) Certification in 2005. In January 2015 he received his ACC (Accredited Cruise Counsellor), a certification from CLIA and is working on his MCC.

Joost is a regular speaker about incentive travel and conferences all over the world.
