Museum of Modern Art of Bucaramanga

The Museum of Modern Art of Bucaramanga is an exhibition space where local, national and international artists in all modalities can show their artistic work. Foundation created in 1989 with the purpose of hosting exhibitions of local and national artists. A collection of around 200 pieces is the heart of the Museum of Modern Art of Bucaramanga, which was inaugurated in 1989. This space has two exhibition halls, a terrace to carry out workshops and a sculpture patio. In the museum you can admire, among other works, 'Recuerdos de Machu Picchu', by Eduardo Ramírez Villamizar; and 'Custodia mayor N ° 2', by Ricardo Gómez Vanegas.

Garcia Rovira Park

Basilica San Juan Bautista

The main place of pilgrimage of Giron is the Basilica San Juan Bautista, on whose altar rests the image of the Lord of the Miracles worshiped by the faithful. This temple, which has five altars, two lateral naves, sixteen columns, two chapels and frontal arches, was built in 1639 and originally had a thatched roof and bahareque walls. His last architectural reforms were made between 1781 and 1883.

Parish of San Francisco de Asís

The church rises in the historical center of the city, next to the Esperanza market and very close to the town hall, on a plot occupied since the 13th century by a convent of Franciscans of great historical importance, which came to rival the Abbey of the Holy Bodies in the 15th century, demolished in 1896 to build the aforementioned market buildings and the town hall. The complex was a church built in the seventeenth century, former parish of San Francisco de Asis, demolished in 1936 to complete the building of the town hall (until then was only built the western half) and build the new church in its current location.

Cathedral of the Holy Family

The Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia, in front of Santander Park, was finished in 1887. This temple is recognized by its two white towers and by its yellow and green dome the colors that predominate in the flag of the city. The chair and the main altar, made of Carrara marble, stand out; the stained glass windows and several religious paintings elaborated by Luis Alberto Acuña and Óscar Rodríguez Naranjo.
