Plaza de Armas

It is located in the center of the city, surrounded by the main public buildings of the City and the Province, which includes the Cathedral of San Mateo, the Municipality of Osorno and the Government.  The Plaza also stands out for its spacious green areas, which feature large trees.  It is also famous by the decorations and ornamentations during festive dates: September 18, and Christmas (decoration of lights, including a Christmas tree, a sleigh, star, plus a life-size nativity scene).

Pleistocene Park of Osorno

It is a themed park, which is characterized by exhibiting sculptures of replicas on a real scale of the megafauna that inhabited the area of southern Chile over 12000 years ago.  The idea of the creation of the Park with the sculptures and representation of Pleistocene life in the area, was born after the discovery of fossil remains in 2007, in the paleontological site of Pilauco Bajo.
