There are more than 15 species of birds that frequent the Olive Grove Park, just across from the hotel. Did you know that Lima, Peru has the second largest variety of birds worldwide? In the Olive Park there are 32 different types of birds.
Huaca Huallamarca
This imposing Pre-Inca pyramid is located just a few blocks from the hotel. It was recently determined that the Huallas culture lived here in 700 A.D. Archaeological excavations have unearthed mummies, on display with ancient objects inside the on-site museum.

Lima Cathedral
Located in the Main Square, the historic center of the city, the Cathedral has splendidly carved stalls, silver-covered altars and mosaic-covered walls bearing the coats of arms of Lima and Pizarro.

Also in the Main Square is the The Government Palace of Peru, also known as House of Pizarro. Erected in 1535, it was the house of the Peruvian government headquarters and was built over a huge Indian burying ground, Waka, that had a shrine of Indian chief Taulichusco. It has undergone many transformations over the years. The current structure was completed in the 20th century by President Oscar R. Benavides during his second government in the 1930s.
