Human Resources Manager
Assist in the day-to-day management of Human Resources, which may include one or more of the following areas: recruiting/employment, benefits and pay administration, employee relations, and/ or training for hotel employees. Maintain confidentiality to the extent possible in all HR- related matters. Serve as Director of Human Resources or Assistant Director of Human Resources in his/her absence. Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Two years of previous experience in Human Resources is required. Hospitality experience preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Non-Exempt Positions

Banquet Setup and Banquet Servers
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.

Bartender
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.

Cocktail Server
Provide fast and courteous beverage service to guests and ensure quality presentation per established standards. May also provide service of food from the restaurant and/or assist the Bartender with set-up and maintenance of appetizers or “Happy Hour” buffet. Greet guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner. Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders. Record order on guest check and ring up on pre-check register or according to hotel procedures. Complete customer payment transactions according to crash and charge procedures. Assist Bartender in preparation of fruits and garnishes; may assist Bartender in setup and replenishment of appetizers or “Happy Hour” buffet, if applicable. Perform other duties as assigned. Cook
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes. Control food usage to minimize waste. Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area to meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Sonesta requirements. May assist by performing warewasher or other kitchen duties as needed. Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Banquets, Catering, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. May occasionally interact directly with guests. Food & Beverage Servers
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Host/ Hostess
Welcome guests to restaurant, seat them, and accept payment when they are finished with their meals. Greet guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seat guests ensuring a balanced workload among servers. Maintain accurate waiting list as needed. Alert guests when table is available. Receive payments and process transactions according to established policies and procedures; give correct change; balance cash drawer at close of shift; complete all opening/ closing paperwork; document voids and void balance sheet. May process take-out orders; may answer room service phone and process room service orders; practice up-selling techniques. May assist with other duties as assigned. Houseperson
Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

Maintenance Supervisor
Supervise a shift, project, or aspect of maintenance/engineering operations which may include scheduling employees, assigning daily work and projects, training and coaching employees, inspecting work for quality and productivity, and initiating corrective and/or disciplinary action as needed. Inspect work assignments to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and within specifications. Monitor performance and recommend and/or initiate disciplinary or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues. Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems, and swimming pool-if applicable, etc. Assist in educating/training employees on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program (e.g.HoliKare, SuiteKare, etc.). Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

Server Assistants
Attend food and beverage areas ensuring a high level of quality and consistency. Adhere to all health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards that meet state and local Health Board inspection, brand standard, and hotel requirements. Prepare and/or transport all food and beverage items and associated supplies, equipment, and materials to and from the buffet areas. Follow preparation methods, times, and quality and presentation standards. Monitor taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, and garnish method as required. Welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner. Refer any serious matters to management. Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work and buffet area, which may include but is not limited to hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens and grills, sinks, refrigerator/freezers, service areas, walls, floors, sneeze guards, and counters. Empty trash receptacles and clear tables as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Steward
Clean and sanitize plate ware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans, utensils and equipment, and work area in a timely manner. Set up work station as required to include filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required set-up equipment for appropriate work stations. Replenish as needed for all shifts. Rinse/scrape all dishes. Operate dishwashing machine. Place clean dishes in assigned storage location. Clean designated equipment. Inform supervisor of hazardous situations, emergencies, or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets. Empty and clean trash cans. Sweep and mop kitchen floor.
