Management Trainee
Receives the training needed to become a manager. Responsible for working alongside managers within all the departments throughout the hotel and accepting delegated responsibilities and duties with the goal of becoming a manager. Receives training and performs duties in several departments such as Human Resources, Accounting, Sales, Catering, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and Food & Beverage. Learns line and staff functions, operations, management viewpoints and company policies and practices that affect each phase of business. Sets performance goals and objectives with upper management. Monitors performance progress with management and key trainers. Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company. Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media websites and numerous company websites. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business Management preferred. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often. Basic math skills are used frequently. Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays is required. Follow all rules of protocol. Non-Exempt

Cook
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes. Control food usage to minimize waste. Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area to meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Sonesta requirements. May assist by performing warewasher or other kitchen duties as needed. Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Banquets, Catering, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. May occasionally interact directly with guests. Reservations Agent
The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a positive experience during their stay. Responsible for responding to guest calls or inquiries about room reservations, as well as providing information and reserving rooms for guests coming to the resort. Ensure clear communication with guests during arrival, obtaining all necessary information and providing the guest with a room that meets their expectations. Should be well versed in promotions, events, pricing, and sales strategy to meet the guest’s request. Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations, confirmations, room need requests, and questions. Explain resort products, service and other information about the resort as requested. Sell, process and enter and confirm room reservations using selling techniques and strategies. Maintain knowledge of current resort events, activities, hours of operation as well as dining options currently available. Other duties as assigned.

Non-Exempt Positions

Banquet Setup, Banquet Servers, Banquet Captain
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.

Bartender
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.

Concierge
Coordinate guests’ needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for our guests. Knowledge of Hilton Head Island is required. Local candidates only need apply. High School diploma or equivalent plus one year experience as a concierge or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

Food & Beverage Servers
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Houseperson
Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

On-Call Massage Therapist
Provide guests with excellent massage therapies, body treatments and customer service. Recommend treatments to guests as well as retail for sale. Effectively communicate with Spa Director and Spa Supervisor. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Promote self and visibility of spa by interacting with guests, and act as an ambassador for Sonesta while at work and away. Perform other duties as assigned.

On-Call Nail Technician
Provide guests with exceptional nail treatments and customer service. Perform a variety of quality nail treatments and provide recommendations to guests. Effectively communicate with Spa Director and Spa Supervisor. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Act as an ambassador for Sonesta while at work and away. Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-exempt

Steward
Clean and sanitize plate ware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans, utensils and equipment, and work area in a timely manner. Set up work station as required to include filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required set-up equipment for appropriate work stations. Replenish as needed for all shifts. Rinse/scrape all dishes. Operate dishwashing machine. Place clean dishes in assigned storage location. Clean designated equipment. Inform supervisor of hazardous situations, emergencies, or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets. Empty and clean trash cans. Sweep and mop kitchen floor.
