Banquet Sous Chef
Supervise day-to-day activities of the Banquet Sous Chefs and other culinary personnel to achieve compliance in food preparations, presentation and quality for all Banquet Events. Assist with employee training and scheduling. Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures. Supervises culinary employees in a large full-service, luxury, resort hotel and oversees banquet facilities catering to more than 500 people. Maintain approved food costs and labor costs. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience as a sous chef, or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience is required. Degree or certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.

Restaurant Manager
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of multiple full-service food and beverage outlets on a daily basis and coordinating special events. Must be knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations concerning health safety. Ensure that staff members are cross trained in different food and beverage outlets in order to maximize efficiencies at all times and based on business demands. Work closely with Outlet Supervisors in all aspects and plan the progression and development of Supervisors within the department guidelines. At least 1-2 years restaurant management experience in a full service outlet, fine dining restaurant, or similar setting.

Restaurant Sous Chef
We are seeking a Sous Chef to provide culinary, administrative, and leadership assistance to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. The Sous Chef ensures effective, efficient operation for main kitchen and room service. Assist the Executive Chef in the design and implementation of new menus to introduce “new concept” for Gallery Café and room service. Supervise staff to ensure proper handling / storage of all food items is in accordance with hotel standards and sanitation / health regulations. Coordinate the purchase of all food and develop menus. Maintain approved food costs and labor costs. Associate Degree in Culinary Arts preferred. Experience with line cooking required. Experience in overseeing a restaurant preferred. 2 years experience in supervisory role or similar position required. Knowledgeable of hotel operations.

Sales Manager
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of success to help grow our sales team! Seeking a confident self-starter with an assertive selling style who will bring an entrepreneurial flair to our Hotel. The candidate will be responsible for prospecting and outside calls to uncover new business opportunities as well as grow our share of current accounts. Must have at least 2 years of experience in travel industry within an upscale/luxury hotel environment and must demonstrate a sound base of current accounts. Travel is required. This position requires excellent business communication and negotiation skills and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be computer literate. This position requires a high level of professionalism, an engaging style, excellent communication skills-verbal and written, organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Experience with Delphi is helpful. College degree or equivalent in experience necessary. This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

2015 Hospitality Internships
Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island offers a number of work opportunities for students who are enrolled in hospitality, recreation, retail, culinary, and related degree programs. As these programs do not constitute management training, our recruitment efforts target students who have a minimum of industry related work experience, or who are looking to broaden their experiential backgrounds and supplementing their academic studies via a hands-on work experience in a resort environment. Students who participate in these programs help us meet our on-going staffing needs. In exchange, they are assessed for future job placement at the resort or within Sonesta International Hotel Corporation and its collection of properties.

Banquet Captain
Lead the set-up and break-down and/or service and clean up of banquet functions during assigned shift. Assign work and monitor the performance of scheduled banquet staff. Provide training and corrective instructions. Work closely with Kitchen Staff to communicate speed of service, client numbers, and special requests. Participate in pre-function meeting and review all information pertinent to service and set up of group. Inspect scheduled function areas/rooms, table set-ups, bar set-ups, buffet tables, receptions and coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and proper layout. Perform other duties as assigned. Banquet Setup and Banquet Servers
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.

Bartender
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.

Breakfast Cook
AM Shifts only. Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes. Control food usage to minimize waste. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area to meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Sonesta requirements.

Concierge (Seasonal)
Coordinate guests’ needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for our guests. Collect and provide comprehensive information and coordinate guest requests including but not limited to hotel services, sporting events, places of interest, restaurants, theater, airline, transportation tickets, limousine rentals, sightseeing tours, and any other information of interest. Handle reservations and obtain/issue tickets where applicable. Provide guest assistance with florists, couriers, mail services, rental of small business machines, international calls, etc. Respond appropriately to guest concerns or complaints in a timely manner. Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up. Maintain a neat and orderly concierge desk and area that reflects highly on the hotel and brand. Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments. Be aware and prepare for all in-house group meetings and VIP arrivals. Perform other duties as assigned such as assisting the bell stand, providing luggage, and assistance, etc.

Cook
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes. Control food usage to minimize waste. Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area to meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Sonesta requirements. May assist by performing warewasher or other kitchen duties as needed. Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Banquets, Catering, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. May occasionally interact directly with guests. Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

In-Room Dining Server
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guest rooms and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Nail Technician
Provide guests with exceptional nail treatments and customer service. Main duties include giving manicures and pedicures, recommending treatments to guests, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Advanced vocational training, plus one-year of experience. Must have and maintain all licensing requirements of the state of South Carolina. Must maintain excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment. Must have a high school diploma and speak fluent English.

Restaurant Server
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Spa Coordinator (Seasonal)
Looking for a friendly, detail-oriented individual that will help assist guests and clients of Arum Spa with appointments, services, and retail products. Must have a minimum one-year experience in spa and retail environment.

Steward
Clean and sanitize plateware, silverware, glassware, pots & pans, and utensils. Set up work station, filling dish machine. Rinse/scrape all dishes. Operate machine. Monitor chemicals and water temperature. Sweep and mop floor. May assist with other duties. Carry/lift up to 75 lbs. Standing & moving in kitchen. Bending, stooping, kneeling. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
