Banquet Captain
Lead the set-up and break-down and/or service and clean up of banquet functions during assigned shift. Assign work and monitor the performance of scheduled banquet staff. Provide training and corrective instructions. Work closely with Kitchen Staff to communicate speed of service, client numbers, and special requests. Participate in pre-function meeting and review all information pertinent to service and set up of group. Inspect scheduled function areas/rooms, table set-ups, bar set-ups, buffet tables, receptions and coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and proper layout. Perform other duties as assigned. Banquet Setup and Banquet Servers
Join our banquet team as a setup associate or banquet server hosting events in Hilton Head's premier event spaces and ballroom. Previous banquet or catering service is preferred.

Bartender
Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.

Cocktail Server
Provide fast and courteous beverage service to guests and ensure quality presentation per established standards. May also provide service of food from the restaurant and/or assist the Bartender with set-up and maintenance of appetizers or “Happy Hour” buffet. Greet guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner. Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders. Record order on guest check and ring up on pre-check register or according to hotel procedures. Complete customer payment transactions according to crash and charge procedures. Assist Bartender in preparation of fruits and garnishes; may assist Bartender in setup and replenishment of appetizers or “Happy Hour” buffet, if applicable. Perform other duties as assigned. Cook
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes. Control food usage to minimize waste. Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area to meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Sonesta requirements. May assist by performing warewasher or other kitchen duties as needed. Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Banquets, Catering, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. May occasionally interact directly with guests. Food & Beverage Servers
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards. Basic reading and writing skills are required. Minimum of 6 months food service experience in an upscale atmosphere with general knowledge of restaurant operations is preferred. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Front Desk Agent
Welcomes and registers hotel guests adhering to established credit policies and procedures. Quotes room, rate and availability for current and future dates. One year customer service experience required. Previous upscale hotel experience strongly preferred. Great customer service skills. Knowledge of Property Management Systems such as Opera a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Front Desk Supervisor
Provide timely and professional check in/check out services in accordance with established scripting and standards. Assist in supervising the front desk function; ensure staff is properly trained including service expectations, hotel facilities and services, local directions, property management and reservations systems, safety and emergency procedures, etc. Up-sell rooms when possible to maximize hotel revenue. Routinely check in/check out guests, answer phones, take reservations and assist staff with job functions. May be responsible for issuing safe-deposit boxes to guest and ensuring the security of keys. Promote hotel services, facilities and outlets; provide guests with information such as local attractions and directions. Complete opening and closing shift duties and communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow up. Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures in accordance with established guidelines. May assist with other duties as assigned. Host/ Hostess
Welcome guests to restaurant, seat them, and accept payment when they are finished with their meals. Greet guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seat guests ensuring a balanced workload among servers. Maintain accurate waiting list as needed. Alert guests when table is available. Receive payments and process transactions according to established policies and procedures; give correct change; balance cash drawer at close of shift; complete all opening/ closing paperwork; document voids and void balance sheet. May process take-out orders; may answer room service phone and process room service orders; practice up-selling techniques. May assist with other duties as assigned. Houseperson
Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

Maintenance Worker
Perform general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, repairing pipelines, toilets, sink, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc. Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned. Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guests entrance/access doors, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure proper operation and maximum efficiency. Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed. Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility, grounds, pool and exercise/sports facilities ( including property signs and lighting). Assist with other duties as assigned. On-Call Massage Therapist
Provide guests with excellent massage therapies, body treatments and customer service. Recommend treatments to guests as well as retail for sale. Effectively communicate with Spa Director and Spa Supervisor. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Promote self and visibility of spa by interacting with guests, and act as an ambassador for Sonesta while at work and away. Perform other duties as assigned.

On-Call Nail Technician
Provide guests with exceptional nail treatments and customer service. Perform a variety of quality nail treatments and provide recommendations to guests. Effectively communicate with Spa Director and Spa Supervisor. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment at all times. Act as an ambassador for Sonesta while at work and away. Perform other duties as assigned.

Recreation Attendant
Help lead the activities of the Leisure Services programs for hotel guests. Ensure the security of the guests by verifying guest registration. Assist with supervising the Swimming Pool and Fitness areas. Explain and demonstrate use of apparatus and equipment. Greet guests as they enter the outdoor pool area and check in/out towels to hotel guests. May lead activities for children, teen, and adult programs, and business groups within the hotel, e.g., Group Beach Olympics. Monitor pool area and pool deck for cleanliness and safety issues. Routinely conduct inspections of the Fitness areas and report any maintenance and report needs to Engineering and Housekeeping as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Server Assistants
Attend food and beverage areas ensuring a high level of quality and consistency. Adhere to all health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards that meet state and local Health Board inspection, brand standard, and hotel requirements. Prepare and/or transport all food and beverage items and associated supplies, equipment, and materials to and from the buffet areas. Follow preparation methods, times, and quality and presentation standards. Monitor taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, and garnish method as required. Welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner. Refer any serious matters to management. Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work and buffet area, which may include but is not limited to hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens and grills, sinks, refrigerator/freezers, service areas, walls, floors, sneeze guards, and counters. Empty trash receptacles and clear tables as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Steward
Clean and sanitize plate ware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans, utensils and equipment, and work area in a timely manner. Set up work station as required to include filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required set-up equipment for appropriate work stations. Replenish as needed for all shifts. Rinse/scrape all dishes. Operate dishwashing machine. Place clean dishes in assigned storage location. Clean designated equipment. Inform supervisor of hazardous situations, emergencies, or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets. Empty and clean trash cans. Sweep and mop kitchen floor.
