David Kohlasch
General Manager

David Kohlasch was named the new General Manager for the Sonesta Gwinnett Place in December, 2013.  With over 30 years of experience in hospitality management, Kohlasch brings focused leadership to the hotel team. Most recently when Sonesta began operations at the 195-room Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore in May 2012, David oversaw the transition and was retained as that property's General Manager.  Kohlasch served in the same capacity at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA, a 500-acre AAA Four Diamond full service resort, spa, golf club and conference center. His experience includes regional operations for Flik Conference Centers, COO/EVP for the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC, and director of food & beverage for the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston.


Beth Searls
Director of Sales and Marketing

In February 2014, Beth Searls was named the Director of Sales and Marketing at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Beth has the experience and skills to successfully lead her team to achieve both short-term and long-term goals. Prior to Sonesta, Beth served as vice president at BridgeStreet Residences & Suites in New York City. She has also consulted for Hilton Worldwide, Sutton Court Hotel and Omni Hotels & Resorts and was the Executive Vice President for Innovative Travel Marketing and the Director of Sales and Marketing for Omni Hotels & Resorts in Atlanta, GA.  

Manuel Acin
Executive Chef

Sonesta Gwinnett Place named Manual “Manolo” E. Acin the executive chef for the hotel and of its newly opened Kaets Steakhouse in October, 2013. Acin oversees the hotel’s dining offerings, including the new steakhouse, and will incorporate Sonesta’s ‘Food is Art’ philosophy, treating each meal as a detailed masterpiece for the senses, into the menu.   Previously, Acin served as the banquet chef at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore. Prior to this, he served as the banquet chef at the property and the sous chef at InterContinental Boston. In 2005, Acin received his associate’s degree in culinary arts from the Universidad del Este in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
