Local Area

Points of interest in Calama include Padre Le Paige Archaeological Museum, Apache Ojo Beach (a natural pool and waterfall) Chuquicamata (the largest open-cut mine in the world) San Pedro de Atacama, and the Geysers of El Tatio. The area is serviced by the El Loa Airport (CJC) in Calama.


San Pedro de Atacama is a small village in one of the oases that are in the highlands of the second region of the country. In this geographical area are some of the highest peaks of the Andes. Some places you can not forget to visit are:
