We got there before check-in time but our luggage was taken care of and we went for lunch. Our room was ready at 3PM. The room was great. Nice balcony view of courtyard. Very nice clean room. Loved the pool. Loved the restaurants. Loved the beach BBQ's. Food and beverage was excellent!! Liked Ascot when we found it... We attended the AUC Graduation ceremony. It was SO well done. We were so happy to arrive in such a beautiful lobby. We were immediately greeted with a cold towel and champagne. It was a great way to kick off a beautiful vacation. We were on the 7th floor overlooking the pool and ocean. It was AMAZING. We were so happy you would think we were on a honeymoon. The bathroom was clean and fresh and the bed was SO comfortable. Simply perfect. Everything was clean and refreshed daily. We enjoyed our balcony in particular. The hotel lobby was a great place to get away from the sun and have a drink while we gamble or play table tennis. The food was delicious! We preferred the Palms Grill over Ocean Terrace most of the time mainly because food was cooked to order rather than buffet style. However, dinner at Ocean Terrace never disappointed. Pizzeria Napoli had great pizza all of the time and Ascot Pub was a great late night option. Honestly, everyone we met was fantastic. Housekeeping staff were always friendly in the hallways and our servers remembered us from day to day. Both ladies we had at the swim up bar were attentive and fun. The towel desk had great staff who reminded us about activities and events happening at the resort. The bartender in the hotel lobby knew what drinks we liked and we were never left thirsty. Check in went so smooth. We arrived around 4:30pm & were very tired since we had been traveling since early that morning. Everyone was so nice & pleasant. I had requested an oceanview room & a view of the airplanes arriving & taking off. We had an excellent view on the 8th floor. Our room was exactly as I had requested. Everything was nice & well kept on the hotel grounds. I was extremely pleased with the amenities & services of the hotel. All inclusive was so nice & I could enjoy my vacation even more since I didn't have to think about "where are we going to eat?" All the food was excellent. The service was excellent also. We were always greeted with a smile. I don't remember his name but the bartender at the bar near the beach was always very helpful & nice. He even took a picture for us. I really enjoyed the Managers Cocktail Party. Everyone was very friendly and helpful but the person who stood out among everyone was Cheryl from the pool bar. She is really great socializing with everyone while making sure everyone is happy with her service. Jonathan M - Texas - June 2014

I was greeted with a smile and a warm attitude and a fresh scented hot towel. My check in and arrival was awesome. The guest room was 844, this was a great location and I was able to see all the activities going on. I am very happy I got to stay in this room. People were great at the hotel. David, Gammy and Ferone were AMAZING!! They were always there to help with questions and tell us about the island and what to do. They hosted some amazing activities and were the most welcoming and friendly hotel staff I have ever encountered. If I come back I hope that those three guys are still working there. Very easy to get to the resort from the airport and easy to check in. The room was very nice and spacious. Everything at the resort was very clean and orderly. Facilities were really nice. The food and service were very good. I liked the buffet at the Ocean Terrace and the dining at the point at night. The palms Grill had great lunches and the Ascot was very good as well. Friendly and courteous staff. Efficient check in and check out. Room was clean and equipped with safe and hair dryer for convenience as well as a well stocked refrigerator. Easily accessible facilities and activities. Everyone was very friendly, courteous and well mannered at the resort. From the guest services staff to the restaurant staff to the bar staff to the entertainment and towel staff and the grounds and public areas staff, they were all friendly. Check in was fast, I had my toes in the sand 30 minutes after landing at the airport. The food was outstanding! Best I've had at an all inclusive. Kerisha from guest services absolutely made our vacation. This lady is a true gem in your resort. Please keep her!!!! No wait, greeted with drink and hand cloth. Smooth check in. A few things didn't work upon arrival but reported it to management and it was immediately fixed. Enough restaurants to always find something to eat. Liked the different activities each night. Great food and drinks. Stayed at several all-inclusive resorts before and commented to those I was with that the quality here was better than the others (which weren't bad, but this was even better). Very well organized, loved the greeting with the cold towel and the cold drink and especially the announcement that "my vacation starts now". The room was beautiful. We found the beds comfortable, the mattresses were nice. We loved everything! The restocking of the mini-fridge was a treat. The ocean terrace was amazing at every meal. We had a private dinner meal in the gazebo outside The Point, and were treated like "royalty". Your staff made us feel very special and it made for a wonderful experience. We also dined in The Point for a post-(AUC)graduation luncheon and it was nicely catered and, of course the view is great! The staff at the Ocean Terrace is incredibly friendly, remembered our names after just two days, the chefs were approachable, and we thought ALL of the food was better than most "all-inclusive" properties. We were part of the AUC medical school graduation event, and everything, from reservations, to room pricing, to the graduation itself, to the post-graduation luncheon went impressively smoothly. The cleaning lady was really kind to us. She did a fantastic job cleaning our room everyday despite the fact that we had 2 small children. She was very accommodating and understanding when it came to our needs. She was very friendly, provided extra coffee for us everyday and always asked what time she could come by for cleaning. Your agent Kevin was extremely charming and gracious. He made the entire check in process smooth and pleasant. He engaged fully with us and offered us welcome drinks. We were travelling as a family - Grandfather, Mother and Son and had requested to have rooms together. Kevin explained that the Manager had upgraded us to the penthouse 1009, for which we thank you so much, it really made our stay with you all the more special. Kevin explained fully the site map and what was on offer that day, handing us your daily activity sheet. He explained that one would be available from 8ish every morning. He made good eye contact and was warm and inviting. He offered the services of a bellman, which we took up as we were a little overwhelmed by the size of the hotel. A slender bellman - young- maybe Carlos, engaged us in conversation to the room, explaining along the way how the hotel ran and promoting the events for the day. We had some challenges with the door keys, which were not "charged" properly, fortunately the bellman let us in, and did a good job of explaining the rooms technology- such as air conditioning etc. he was very warm. Very nice people. They received us with champagne. We felt very homey. Definitely we will come back to Sonesta Maho. Big pool, very nice beachfront. Excellent restaurants and food. We like the activities during the day, the fun games and satisfied with the hotel services such as guest front desk services. I received a Swedish massage at the spa and I felt good and relieved. Arriving late in the evening, the service at check-in was wonderfully efficient and fast. The rooms are a comfortable size and are well tailored to the way of life at the beach with limestone tile floors that make cleaning of the sand grains that are inevitably walked in, very easy. The balcony was also a nice touch to be able to sit outside and admire the view of the island. the facilities were all that could be required for a relaxing holiday. The all inclusive food and drink was just right in terms of what is required for a lazy relaxing stay at the beach. Another nice touch is the recliners overlooking the beach and close enough to the food and drink locale. I think the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. On Sunday lunch the Palms grill was very busy but the barman went over and above his duty and suggested I could eat at the bar and he took my order and served the food during the busy session which was much appreciated. Check in champagne was amazing to come in to, staff at front desk was so helpful and friendly! Paying the little bit extra for an ocean view and a renovated room seemed to work, we really enjoyed our view and the comfortable bed. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The Resort was very clean considering the amount of foot traffic coming and going, especially from the beaches. Also the pool area was a great meeting space. "Front desk associate Kevin, who impressed us on our last visit was again so very warm and friendly with my wife and I. He really appears to care about what he does there and tries to be very responsive to our and other guests needs. Pool side bartender Cheryl is an absolute joy. We looked so forward to seeing her again this year and was quite pleased to see her always smiling face behind the bar. During our week and a half stay, I had opportunities to watch her at work when crowds were small and large and she always offered guests a smile and a couple words regardless of workload. "Check in was very good. The check in staff was very friendly and welcoming. My room was ready upon arrival and i was completely satisfied. My room number was 550 which over looked the pool area. It was very nice and had a good view. A stocked fridge is a nice touch, which was restocked daily. I have always found the service to be really good. From the bar staff to housekeeping. Everyone will greet you with a smile and best wishes for the duration of your stay. There are a few members of your staff that have in the past and continue to impress me. Kerisha the guest experience manager is a real asset to your hotel. The problems that this lady deals with everyday would drive most people up the wall. And yet she deals with it very professionally and always with a smile on her face. Mathew the bartender in the lobby is very good at his job. Felicia is another bartender that I think is an asset. “We visit your hotel several times a year and we did get the floor and the location and the bed type (king) that we wanted this time! Thank you. We think you are doing a good job. “Ocean Terrace was muy EXCELLENTE! Food was tasty, great quality meats that were well prepared for breakfast,lunch and dinner. Excellent variety of dishes to satisfy all needs. Service was great and there was no need to eat anywhere else. I loved the steaks,lamb, pork and roast beef dishes. I'm not a chicken lover so I eat all the other meats. Salads and fruit were sufficient and there was enough of a choice for vegetarians (of which I'm not). “Having just completed my 4th stay, I am happy that each stay is better than the previous! The staff did a great job and there was someone greeting or assisting at every turn. Maria the Hotel Operations Manager was especially friendly and greeted us and checked in with us every time we saw her. The addition of the Ascott Pub as another dining option is also a nice touch (If they ever add Soprano's Piano Bar, Im pretty sure I will never leave). Only change I would like to see for next time is to try and make the resort non-smoking.
