Tax Information Exchange Agreement

New tax initiatives between the United States and the Netherlands Antilles mean good news for meetings and convention planners. For meetings held in St. Maarten, U.S. companies now receive the same tax benefits as those held in the states.

The implementation of the Tax Information Exchange Agreement allows U.S. taxpayers to claim a tax deduction for expenses incurred while attending conventions, business meetings and seminars in St. Maarten, just as if it was a U.S. territory.
