A well-traveled and exemplary hotelier, Mr. Pizzuti brings more than 30 years of experience in hotel and restaurant management in the United States, Italy and Caribbean islands, including Jamaica and Antigua.

As personal recipient of the Prestigious 5 Star Diamond Award, Mr. Pizzuti promises to maintain his “Sterling Service” in the hospitality industry in all departments of Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, ranging from resort upkeep, service and dining, to societal contributions.  Most recently, Mr. Pizzuti served in high-ranking positions for major hotel chains in Montego Bay, Jamaica and Antigua. Notably towards the beginning of his career, he pre-opened and operated a five million-dollar Italian restaurant at Walt Disney’s Grand Floridian Beach Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Mr. Pizzuti began his career in 1980 as a Maitre’ D for A Touch of Italy in Andover, Kansas. He attended Kansas University studying Business Administration and graduated with an Associate Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Recipe Ingredients: 2 oz Sint Maarten Guavaberry liqueur 1oz Cream of Coconut 3oz pineapple pieces or juice Ice

Method:
1. Put ice in blender.

2. Add the Sint Maarten Guavaberry liquer, Cream of Coconut and pineapple pieces or juice.

3. Blend well.

4. Garnish with pineapple, toasted coconut & fresh nutmeg.

Overview
Located in Dutch St. Maarten, the Casino Royale at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino is the largest on the island, boasting 1,300 square meters of gaming and a full theater with 750 seats for events and shows. With 30 tables of gaming, players can choose from roulette (American and French), craps, blackjack and poker (Three Cards and Caribbean). The 400 slot machines include a variety of classics and modern video slots.

Slot Machines
Players can bet from as little as one penny up to $100. Sixty of the 400 slot machines are in a section of the hotel lobby.

Roulette
Three American-version roulette tables carry a $1 and a $50 maximum; there is one French roulette table with a $5 minimum and a $100 maximum.

Craps
Two craps tables have a $5 minimum bet, 1,000 double odds and two three-card poker options with $5 to $50 minimum bets.

Poker
The betting range at two Caribbean poker tables is $5 - $250. Guests can also play Texas hold ‘em and Omaha poker, with limit and no-limit on both.

High Rollers
For high rollers, there is a rating system in place which registers the player’s activity. At the end of the play, he or she may be awarded with complimentary dinners, shows or resort accommodations. All players interested in being rated should contact Casino Host Antonio Bozza, Casino Manager Ermanno Galli, or alternatively, General Manager Mirio Branzanti.

Blackjack
15 blackjack tables feature a range of minimum and maximum bets, from $5 - $100. On special occasions for high rollers, the betting range expands from a $500 minimum - $5,000 maximum.

Tournaments
The Casino Royale hosted the first-ever “St. Maarten Spring Poker Showdown” from April 29, 2006 through May 08, 2006. The International Poker Federation crowned this rising-star casino back in 2004 with the first St. Maarten’s Open, which drew a rainbow of players from around the globe. Sonesta Maho Beach Resort hosted the event again in 2004.

Seminars
The casino runs blackjack and three- card poker seminars each Monday in the hotel lobby next to the slot machine section.

Entertainment
A live band sets the upbeat vibe, and the Showroom Royale, which is located next to the Casino, hosts tightly choreographed Las Vegas-style onstage performances nightly.
