ArtBar Joins Meatless Monday National Initiative - Choose to be Healthy without Giving Up Taste
ArtBar is excited to participate in the new trend of Meatless Monday, offering guests the chance to be healthy by choosing a non-meat, flavorful and innovative option one day a week.
“After meeting and preparing a meal with Chef Tal last month, I knew there was something special about this initiative and my experience with the Gardein product makes me believe it will resonate well with our guests in Cambridge,” said ArtBar’s Executive Chef Brian Dandro. “The high quality, flavor and texture of Gardein makes it a great substitute to the proteins in many dishes on our current menu. Now guests who are vegan, vegetarian or just looking to avoid cholesterol for a meal have multiple options, instead of the usual 1 or 2 you find on most menus. The days of the health conscious diner being served a plate of steamed vegetables are ending, at Artbar we strive to make them feel as special as all our guests.”
ArtBar has joined Gardein’s mission to encourage families to give up meat one day a week as a pathway to better health. The idea is evolutionary, not revolutionary: asking people to make easy, incremental changes improve their diet and reverse the trend of Americans consuming 50% more meat-per-day than USDA recommends, which is twice the global average. The new Meatless Monday lunch menu at ArtBar Cambridge include Seared Gardein* Strips with Sweet & Spicy Chili Glaze; or Gardein* ‘Chicken’ Kbobs with Mango & Chili Emulsion. Dinner guests may select their meatless choice from Chipotle Glazed Gardein* Tenders or Crispy Gardein* Skewers with Mango Jicama Slaw & Spicy Pepper Aioli.

ArtBar offers an award winning riverfront patio in the city. The comfortable outdoor space offers street level garden-style dining overlooking the Charles River and Boston skyline. The seasonal menus offer vegetarian entrees daily. The restaurant offers brunch on the weekends until 4 p.m. including lobster and crab Benedicts; lobster and brie omelet; New England-style clam chowder with applewood smoked bacon; and fresh Starbucks coffee. Menu items included are available through the end of the summer season. ArtBar is open weekdays for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and weekends for brunch and dinner. The Patio at ArtBar is open daily weather permitting, Memorial Day through October.
